Opening Day

It's opening day for spring Baseball and the pinewood derby. Yes we did it all... very carefully. Zach played his game first, (and I left the camera in the carefully packed bag of stuff we would need for the day, on the kitchen counter. No pictures of Zach's first game, but there will be plenty of other opportunities.) We then went to the Pinewood Derby, where Ethan's car took 4th place out of 12. (not to bad), Then we headed off to Ethan's game. He did great! His team (the Cardinal's) won of course. He will now continue to have 3 games and 1 practice a week until June. Zach will only have 1-2 games a week, and maybe no more practices. We'll see.

Kitchen remodel

Feb. 16

This is the Destruction Phase!!!

March 1st
Step One-- the cabinets are in place. (and a new curtain)

March 24
Step 2 -- granite countertops and a granite composite sink

Next we will make a tile back splash (see a sample leaning next to my sink), and finish with the plumbing. I'm not sure when this will happen, as the coming week is going to be quite crazy. Stay tuned to find out.

The easter egg hunt

We wanted to do something fun for spring break, so we decided to participate in an easter egg hunt with the other mom's from church. We all provided our own eggs and met at a public park at 10 am Friday.

Just as the kids lined up to hunt for eggs, the sprinkler system went on!!
Ethan decided to capture the water in his easter basket and dump it onto Zachary. He said but Darian was going to do it first!! So I sent both of them to the car to sit in "timeout". Zachary looked at me and said "does that mean I get all of their eggs?" His friends mom who was watching the whole thing, said "nice try buddy" At least it got him to stop crying.

When they were all done hunting eggs they gathered around to see what each other got, and to "trade"
